In a chance phone call to an old friend, Takahan two weeks ago, I found out Cosfest X.2was being held last weekend on 25 and 26 Feb.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Cosfest and there were many special programs lined up, including appearances by overseas cosplayers, well-known to the cosplay community. Kudos to Stephanie and Takahan from the Singapore Cosplay Club for a job well done and growing Cosfestbigger and better each year over the last ten years.
With a new Canon 60D and a Nikon 1 J1, I was eager to test my gears. Hence on Sunday (26 Feb), I set off to Downtown Eastto attend the event.
The world of manga and anime has moved on a fair bit, following my two years hiatus. Nowadays, I can only recognise less than 10 percent of the characters being cosplayed. Please pardon my random captioning below as I do not know most of the characters:
If you are interested to attend, whether as a spectator, a photographer or even as a cosplayer, there will still be another Cosfest in the later half of the year. Check out the official Singapore Cosplay Club website and forum for updates on other cosplay events happening in Singapore throughout the year. 🙂
This year, I went with my friend, Kaili who has never been to Cosfest before. She enjoyed herself and was impressed by the efforts the cosplayers put into making the costumes.
While Kaili sat by the stage watching the cosplay competition, I wandered around constantly to take pictures of as many cosplayers as I can. As years go by, I find myself increasingly unable to keep up with the anime, manga or game characters cosplayed. Hence please pardon me if I name some of the characters below wrongly. 🙂
