Check out these images I shot using my LG Optimus G on instagram. Other than the default filters available in instagram, no other filters, camera add-ons or mobile apps were used:
Good stuff?
The images are made possible with these cool camera features of the LG Optimus G:
Smart Shutter adjusts shutter speed to capture non-fuzzy, crisp images by sensing the unstable camera and the movement of the object.
Time catch shot will let you never miss a precious moment – takes 5 pictures even before you press the shutter so you can choose the best picture that captures the moment.
Voice activated shutter takes a picture when you are ready. Just say ‘cheese’, ‘smile’ or ‘LG’ and the camera will know when to take a picture.
In my next post on LG Optimus G, I will be sharing on my transition from iOS to Android. I am an Android convert now. There is no turning back. Stay tuned.
Shoppers along Orchard Road were treated to a tiny surprise as they pass Wisma Atria yesterday evening:
Hwang Min-Woo, better known as “Little Psy”, made his Singapore debut by performing several dance routines outside LG’s G Café pop up store, to a crowd of hundreds. The talented nine year-old is best known for appearing alongside Korean rapper, Psy, in the viral hit music video, ‘Gangnam Style’.
“Little Psy” was in Singapore to kick off G Café, the retail and lifestyle concept store for the newly launched LG Optimus G smartphone. He performed his signature dance moves and upbeat choreography to ‘Gangnam Style’, ‘Fantastic Baby’, and an original track from his upcoming album, ‘Showtime’.
The G Café, situated at the Wisma Atria Atrium, is set up to allow consumers to see and experience the unique features of Optimus G, the most feature-rich smartphones LG has produced to date. The G Café comprises three experience zones for consumers to learn more about the design, performance and user interface features, as well as an actual café, where consumers can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from the popular Melbourne-style coffee brewers, The Plain.
LG Optimus G, the premium flagship smartphone that has been making waves in Korea, Japan, United States and Canada, was launched in Singapore on 31 January 2013. It was recently lauded with a Korea Electronic Show (KES) Innovation Award for its Zerogap Touch Technology. This improves the durability and clarity of the display by eliminating air gaps found in other touchscreens. In design, the Optimus G is awarded the iF Product Design Award 2013.
LG Optimus G retails for S$798 and is currently available in Singapore at Starhub, M1, Singtel and selected retail stores. The G Café is open on 23rd February 2013 to 8th March 2013 from 12pm to 9pm daily. Hurry down before you miss it!
Just before the Chinese New Year week, my iPhone 4S was stolen a day after I attended the Singapore launch of the LG Optimus G. I have been thinking of switching to an Android phone, seeing that it had surpassed iOS in global marketshare as the mobile platform of choice.
After my iPhone 4S was stolen, I have been using my wife’s old iPhone 4 in the interim. A week ago, I finally got my hands on a new set of the LG Optimus G:
I am a Mac user most of my life – I currently have an iPad, two iPod Mini, an iPod, two Macbook Pro and two iPhone 4 in my home.
In the next few weeks, I will be documenting my transition from an Apple iOS user on iPhone 4/4S to a LG Optimus G Android user.
The immediate challenge for me was to get my Optimus G to sync on my Macbook Pro. I will also need to import all my contacts and data stored in iCloud and iTunes to the new phone.
The steps are easier than I thought. I will share more in my next “It’s Time to Change for Good” blog series. Stay tuned. 🙂
The highly anticipated LG Optimus Gsmartphone was launched in Singapore on 31 Jan 2013 at Jubilee Hall, Gardens by the Bay. I was among the lucky few invited by LG Electronics Singapore to witness the launch.
Touted as one of its most feature-rich smartphone, the LG Optimus G has been making waves in Korea, Japan, United States and Canada. This flagship smartphone will be available in Singapore from 2nd February 2013 at Starhub, M1 and Singtel stores. Pre-order is also available via Starhub and M1.
How is the LG Optimus G different from other smartphones in the market?
Well, the Optimus G offers LG’s unique User Experience (UX) and is encased in a sleek design with signature Crystal Reflection finish.
Highlights include:
– a powerful quad-core CPU, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, together with LTE capabilities and 2GB RAM to deliver blazing fast data transfer speeds
– new high density battery from LG Chem which has a longer life of 800 charge cycles
– ultra high-resolution 13MP camera which can even create extra-large prints
– a “Cheese Shutter” that takes photo with voice activation command just by saying cheese, kimchi, smile or LG
Snazzy UX features include:
– QSlide Function that can overlay two different screens simultaneously on one display, allowing users to do two things at once, such as send a text message or search the web while also watching a video;
– Live Zooming enhances the video-watching experience as users can zoom in up to five times while the video is being played;
– Dual Screen Dual Play enables mirroring of displays between the smartphone nad a TV and also has the ability to display different content on each screen wirelessly. For example, a slide presentation can be displayed on the TV while the Optimus G shows the accompanying speaking notes;
– QuickMemo allows users to write, draw or jot a memo with your finers directly on the captured screen for sharing instantly with others as an attachment or a URL. The QuickMemo can also be used as an overlay feature – like jotting down a number using the QuickMemo and directly dialling the number while the number is on the top layer.
I find the QSlide + QuickMemo functions particularly impressive when used together. With the Optimus G, one no longer need to go hunting for a pen and paper to scribble down a phone number. Just write it on your smartphone and dial straight!
To the lay consumer like me, LG phones give the general impression of more style and design over hardware. Optimus G seeks to change this perception by marrying design with solid hardware. This will give LG a flagship smartphone to compete with the respective flagship phones of the leading smartphone brands like Apple and Samsung, not just in design, but hardware specifications too.
In conjunction with the launch of Optimus G, LG Electronics Singapore is embarking on a campaign, ‘Change for Good’, to encourage and empower Singaporeans to make positive changes in their lives. A microsite, www.changeforgood.sg, is available for Singaporeans to make their pledges and connect with one another through the various social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Google+. A common hashtag (#ChangeForGood) allows users to view and add to the campaign’s movement, making it a socially immersive campaign.
My iPhone 4S just got stolen a day after I attended the launch of the Optimus G. I have been thinking of switching to Android, seeing that it is fast overtaking iOS in global marketshare as the mobile platform of choice. Maybe this is a good time for me to “Change For Good” and switch to an Optimus G running on Android? 🙂
